Hello, I only see 20 teams to choose from in the team list. Please add all the other teams that other projects have listed. There are hundreds of active ones. Thank you. |

Hello, I only see 20 teams to choose from in the team list. Please add all the other teams that other projects have listed. There are hundreds of active ones. Thank you. The list of teams is made up by the team membership of the individual volunteers, as with each other project. So you are actually asking for more volunteers, especially from other teams, but there should be an option for the project to import boinc-wide teams though. What would help in the past was a challenge on BOINCstats for a project, in order to gain more volunteers. With the new interface at BOINCstats however even my own team captain can't find out how to join a challenge anymore. Perhaps as a result of this, far less challenges are issued at BOINCstats nowadays -but it might also be a lack of interest from the teams themselves. The alternative is e.g. FormulaBOINC or being chosen for the BOINC Pentathlon. BTW: Note that you can also start a team on a project, either a new one or one for a team that you are a member of. |

I ran that script when I created the server and it eventually crashed out for some reason after only importing part of the list. I made a note to check back again at some point, but I don't think I ever did. Come to think of it, it may have been due to some teams using emoji's in their names and descriptions and my DB config complaining about them... but that was 10-ish months ago, my memory is almost certainly fuzzy. I'll have to check that script to see if its re-entrant so I can run it again without creating duplicate teams. |

using emoji's in their names and descriptions and my DB config complaining about themWell now. On April 1 (appropriate) I used an emoji for the first time. My life would have been simpler if I didn't do that. Since then I've tested emoji's on every BOINC forum with varying reactions. Some databases pass the emoji with no problem, others replace the emoji and some just crash. BOINC Synergy didn't have emoji's in the team description months ago, but they have been added recently to test and indeed several projects where BOINC Synergy is a BOINC wide team have not been able to update the description to include the added emoji's. I assume I'm crashing their script. I'll leave as is for now until I actually look to see all the results, but will likely remove those emojis later. I'm now pestering databases all over the net with emoji's just to see the varying reactions. This is probably the largest most wide-spread problem that doesn't seem to matter (but actually does cause corruptions), that I've ever come across. |

team_edit_form.php wrote: Edit BOINC SynergyI just noticed that BOINC Synergy is a BOINC wide team on MLC@Home but I'm sure the team didn't exist here until I created it manually, so that falls in line with a crashed script? MLC allows emoji's in the Account name, Team Description and forum thread title but not in a forum post. 18 days ago I was able to create a Thread with no post inside it by including an emoji in the post and crashing it. https://www.mlcathome.org/mlcathome/forum_thread.php?id=188 |
