App version 0.920 (9.20 in BOINC parlance) is now up for testing with windows 64-bit support! Please enable "Run test applications" in Project->Preferences , and let me know any issues. There is no functional linux 0.920 (9.20) client, as there's no functional change from 0.911 (9.11). |

So far so good. Working fine on an i7 8700 albeit most are pending validation. I may soon release it to more machines. Good job! Cheers. |

Not able to find run test applications under the normal MLC preferences page. Not sure what I'm missing. Do I need to have valid tasks before I can enable this? |

If you are logged into the website, you should see the option at this link: https://www.mlcathome.org/mlcathome/prefs.php?subset=project However, as of a few minutes ago, you no longer need to enable test applications. Windows app is out of its (very short) beta. |

If you are logged into the website, you should see the option at this link: I popped in to report all good. Guess that's not needed ;) I see the option for test apps is no longer there. I think it only appears when there are test apps in a project. A slight nuisance actually, as I wanted to disable it - I prefer to only enable it when I specifically want to test, but now my hosts might start running test apps in the future when I'm not around to monitor things. (I do realise that this is probably a boinc issue, rather than the project's issue.) Edit: PS Thanks for the Windows app! |

Guess I should have looked a bit closer as my Windows Vista X64 PC had not received any test work and when finally did the results all failed immediately upon start up. Example: https://www.mlcathome.org/mlcathome/result.php?resultid=113680 Exit status -1073741511 (0xC0000139) STATUS_ENTRYPOINT_NOT_FOUND.

check if the VC 2015 (x64) redistributable runtime is installed in the system. probably libraries coming with the application are not compatible with your system |

check if the VC 2015 (x64) redistributable runtime is installed in the system. I have the most recent (14.25.28508) MS Visual C 2015-2019 (x64) and (x86) redistributable runtimes installed on the Vista x64 PC. Had toinstall them about 2 months ago for another project. I found this entry in the Windows System Error Log for the task. Maybe the project owner/ / admin can look at the error message below. I'm willing to try and debug the problem using ProcExplorer, DependancyWalker or any other tool. Faulting application mlds_0.920_windows_x86_64.exe, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x5f02f081, faulting module KERNEL32.dll!GetCurrentProcessorNumberEx, version 6.0.6003.20512, time stamp 0x5cb5f176, exception code 0xc0000139, fault offset 0x00000000000b6698, process id 0x16e4, application start time 0x01d654f383886af0 No big loss if it won;t work. This would not be the first project that will not run on that old boat anchor.

I actually distribute the necessary VC2015 dlls with the app now. So it shouldn't matter if they're installed or not. I'm going to be honest, I would have no clue how to do about debugging that problem. Its clearly a mismatch between the generated binary and kernel library included in Vista, but given everything else on my plate at the moment, it's way down on the priority list. If I can bring someone else on board to handle windows development, I'll point them at this report and have them have a go at fixing it, but I probably won't get to it, at least not anytime soon. In general I'm an older hardware/OS enthusiast/geek myself (I do have an SGI Indigo2, an HP-UX, and UltraSPARC I machines sitting in a closet), so for the fun of it I'd like to support as many as possible.. but I can't let that get in the way of science at the moment. Sorry, I know that's not the best answer, but its the only one I can give at the moment. |

... Sorry, I know that's not the best answer, but its the only one I can give at the moment. I understand and I am okay with that. I do appreciate it that you have taken time from your schedule to reply. Keep up the good work!

Guess I should have looked a bit closer as my Windows Vista X64 PC had not received any test work and when finally did the results all failed immediately upon start up. I get the same error on one of my Windows 7 Pro Box's, another Win 7 Pro one runs fine & my Windows 10 Laptop never has received any Wu's so don't know if the Wu's will run on it or not ... |
