new cruncher here, was contributing to World Community Grid my cpus, but they resuming operations in April so i decided to try another CPU project while my gpu do other things.

I've read a bit on the project, and I see we generate data sets for machine learning research. I am not sure what the use case is and what exactly is the long term goal, or short term goals either. Is there something more specific than simply "participating in machine learning models research trough artificial data sets" ? i do not seem to find such information anywhere

I think the ultimate goal is to improve understanding of machine learning algorithms so practical use cases could be improved, such as content creation or autonomous driving.
