Apparently you are not aware that not all projects yield deterministic results. That is, there is some randomness.
That is one of the reasons they have validity checks. Why do you think they send it out to two computers for comparison?
You might as well complain that they are wasting half their processing power if you like. Go where you want.

I will stick to this project. I love the response we get from the admin - and a human one at that, who is actively trying to improve the project and code that it runs on. Despite countless forum posts, still no AVX support at Rosetta, which would make things much faster. I'm trying to give this and WCG 50% resources each, though Boinc currently seems to think MLC should get all the attention since I suppose its deadlines are much sooner.

That for one and also BOINC is trying to bring the new project up to its resource share. Time will help with the latter and I noticed the former has been changed too. Deadlines for new WUs are now 4 days, that should take stress from the systems. Mine are doing other work again now.

Newly generated WUs are now 4 days, but previously-generated ones are still the old timeout. I realized the problem I was trying to avoid is less of an issue now that I have a much larger backlog of work.
