The files are enormous (1Tb+) and are taking a long time to seed. The DS4 WUs we are all looking for will be distributed the normal way, via the BOINC manager. But the availability will be spotty for the foreseeable future.

It's start-up issues with DS4, the returned files are taking far more disc space than available. New WU availability will be off and on for a few days while the back end problems get worked out.

I've read a bit on the project, and I see we generate data sets for machine learning research. I am not sure what the use case is and what exactly is the long term goal, or short term goals either. Ive done many of the new test Wu's but they all seem to result in errors while computing (they actually reach 100% in 3-5 hours but get the error when validating).other persons did the same Wu's as me afterwards and got the same results. (view my profile for more details). Anything we can do on our part to prevent this from happening? The DS4 errors are because the output file was too large for Boinc to transfer, the server side setting was too low. It has since been adjusted and the test units are validating normally.

I noticed an almost 20% run time increase working CPU units using Windows 11. That's why I switched back to Windows 10.

13) Questions and Answers : Issue Discussion : Multiple MLDS.exe apps running (Message 1363) Posted 19 Sep 2021 by swiftmallard Post: Your tasks page shows you have nothing in progress. If you delete these tasks, they shouldn’t show as aborted on your tasks list. If they do, there is a server issue somewhere and pianoman will want to know about it. If they are simply gone after deletion, wait a couple days before getting more work and see if any reappear. You may wish to note the unique task name before doing anything so you can see if it’s the same ones popping up.
14) Questions and Answers : Issue Discussion : Multiple MLDS.exe apps running (Message 1359) Posted 12 Sep 2021 by swiftmallard Post: I have noticed that over a dozen copies (13 total) of the MLDS.exe app are running on my Win 7 machine even though there are currently no WUs in progress. There are WUs being reported as completed as recent as 11 am 9/11/21. Is this expected behavior. If I kill these tasks, will a new WU spawn a new app? I would remove the project, restart Boinc, and then reattach. That typically solves issues like this.

I'm going to push out some more, and look into a way to automate this until DS4 is ready (or rather, until the windows CPU client that supports DS4 is ready). Aaaaand…the well has run dry already

Unfortunately, DS4 isn't quite ready yet, although I think we're only a day or two away. In the mean time, later today, I'll send out some DS1/DS2 WUs from the GPU queue to the CPU one. Expect more to start flowing within the next 24 hours. Sorry for the gap, this is completely on me. Can you do this again as the CPU queue is dry?

I am wondering if I am experiencing the same issues. It has been over a week since I started the project. I have lots of valid returns, but BOINCStats, nor other stat sites have shown my information. I was wondering what I can do to fix this or what needs to be done. Thank you. Go to your account page, then click on MLC@home preferences. Click Edit Preferences, then select "Do you consent to exporting your data to BOINC statistics aggregation Web sites?" this should be checked. Click the green Update Preferences button at the bottom of the page.

For example, what to rand_automata units do as opposed to ParityModified ParityMachine or EightBitModified?
